From another 19 Year Olds POV I'd say the vRS is a bloody fantastic car. I got myself a Silver 07 Plate vRS about three months ago now. I am paying

it should be funny when my mate laugh at me for buying a skoda and them i eat them all up on the motorway adn tell them to hurry while they fill up petrol...again while i am still on my first tank. thats what i most look forward to...the faces of people who see a skoda in there rear view mirror laugh and then try to put there footdown to leave u, and you go sailing by without even trying..... cant wait!!!

i got a quote for a 19 y o in brent (like 4 highest crime rate in london) 0 no claims and a accident in 03 2006 and my quote for th vrs was 1200 on elephant, they seem to give me the best quotes i cant wait to get my vrs, my old car the handbrake cable just snapped!!!!!!!!! i was like for **** sake!! I HATE U!!!!!!!!! lol :p

I am insured with MCE car insurance, Got the car when i was 18 and it wasn't _too_ expensive. I did have 1yrsNCB and Pass Plus.

Im now 20 and the premium hasn't really gone down much, but its at 21 when you can start to make savings.

Going from a 1l saxo, to the furbie is incredable. The ingear pickup is mind blowing compared to a 50bhp petrol, and 1 up or 5 up in the car, it still pulls.

But like all things, treat it with massive respect. Albeit quick, the fabia is hardly the best handling car on the road, and when it *goes* it goes, understeer is a problem even compared to the saxo i had.

Treat the car well, save the speed for the strights and get used to pushing the car to its limits on track days. You probably wont listen to my advice, i didn't when i got mine, but when you get thought a set of tyres every 6k miles, at

If its your name on the logbook then the policy has to be in your name with a parent as a named driver - put your mother down as it will be cheaper than your dad.

The other thing to do is get it insured for driving only at certain times of the day its much cheaper - mind you only drive then otherwise your not insured.

I test drove one today and all I can say is WOW

Completely blew my mind... I was a little unsure of the best way to drive it as I havn't driven diesels before... but I wasn't putting my foot down until after 2.5k rpm as I read on here.

Jesus christ the torque is brutal and it accelerates in every gear! The gearchange is slick.. and that 6th gear is very cool

I was a bit apprehensive about the white seats... but they seem fine they seem to be made of quite a hardwearing material and are very supportive. interior is well built and I picked up a few tips from the dealer about how to spot a crashed VRS (e.g. curve on inside of front bumper... front wings etc)

but yes as you say it does feel like a heavy car... handling a bit boatlike and so does deserve huge respect and that power needs to be kept on a leash and used appropriatly

Just gotta find one for around 7,5k or less now! prefereably in silver hehe

Glad you liked it. If you don't come from a quick torquey car in the first place, the vRS is quite addictive.

I got back in my Corsa put my foot down and expected to be gushed along by a huge wave of power... and then rememberd it has around 98 lb ft :(

One thing on the insurance would be to ask your company ahead of any modding if they'll touch you with a remap (and if so how much!) as lots of insurers seem to be black flagging modded vRS's now and at 19 you may not have a lot of companies to choose from as it is :(

Exhausts on a diesel won't really make any performance difference but if you like the look of it, then you could just get the backbox. You won't have any issues passing an MOT with or without a cat (as diesels are checked on particulate emissions rather than CO2)

The things to look out for are well documented on here, and most are easily fixable so not deal breakers....

The Fab VRS will eat the crappy Corsa vxr(i will be test driving one though). It will be like its brother throw the power down, spin and do nothing.

The Fab is fun fast and cheapish to run and will put a big:D on your face everytime you drive it. So the sooner you buy one the better. Have fun buying you wont regret it.

That's what attracts me to the VRS you see! The fact that so much can be changed for relatively little money if you wanted to

I am deffo changing my car... no doubt about it.. you only live once I am extremely bored of it.

But if I bought an Astra 1.8, Polo GTi etc... some 1.8 petrol unit which people would expect you to get at 19... I can see myself getting bored of it after a year or so... throwing 1k at it and only seeing a measly 10-20bhp gain.

Plus the VRS will outlast and be more reliable than any Ford, Vauxhall or French equivalant
