Kick plates - a question

Featured Replies

I've recently picked up an Octy Sport TDI which is supposed to come with sport kick plates. When I collected it it had none on so the dealer ordered them in for me. When they arrived though all that came was 2 ally strips which say Sport on them, not any of the plastic bits which cover up the the 2 ledges on each door. Is that correct? Surely I should have got those pieces as well. Does anyone know the answer? The dealer is checking with Skoda but I'm not entirely sure I trust them. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

The Skoda accessories site states the Sport kick plates are for front doors only and they are

you get the same two metal strips with the first verison of the L&K (not sure about the updated version). I had the same problem with mine having none but an email to skoda uk sorted it after the dealer said it didnt come with them!

The full set are pretty good IMHO as I have them fitted to my car.

Snap: well worth it!

my sport was meant to come with them along with many other things (that the dealer has probably nicked). but when i got the car the lies started to flow out of my dealers mouth like he had to lie to live.

email skoda uk then. i did and they emailed a voucher code to get them ordered and fitted for free in my local dealer.

cheers, may do that;-)

well ipopped into ashmore green in newbury today and spoke to the aftersales guy, he came and looked at my car and then had a look at a year old sport in black and there where the kick plates, so he went back into the dealer and went through the brouchure saying that everything is fitted to the car and that the brouchure has changedand im a lyer attitude. Sure enough the brouchure said it should be with my car and i was right :) so now they are ordering some to fit a week saturday. :) he did look a bit confused when he saw the vrs badge on the front of my car lol.

Stainless doesn't do well in salty environents :( - its the reason you don't see it much on car exteriors. It can also cause corrosion of carbon steel (i.e. the chassis) if electrically connected in wet and salty conditions.

Any chance the plates got wet road salt on them?
