Questions on original xenon

Featured Replies

Hi.

Just ordered a brand new Fabia Combi 1.9 TDI a week ago, so i still have some waiting to do :-(

I have ordered it with original xenon, amongst other nice stuff.

Have some of you got any pictures of the car with these kind of headlights on?

How much is the kelvin in the xenon - 6000, 8000 or 10000?

Hope you can help a soon-to-be fabia owner.

Can I just ask, is your user name ironic?

Hi,

I assume you're not in the UK because the OEM Xenons aren't available on UK Fabias except the vRSes. I think the colour temperature of the supplied tubes is about 4500

Thanks.

My name is to be taken lightly... Jew has been my nickname since 2. grade (my real name is Jesper)

I'm not a jew, and in danish it is not pronounced as in english.

Evil has been added by my friends, since im not the smallest kid on the block :-)

I'd seriously considering changing your username, otherwise you'll be forever explaining it :)

As Bryan says, I reckon they're less than 6000. Nearer 4500 indeed, more of a pure white light when warmed up, than the aftermarket 6000k HID kits, which have more of a blue tinge to the output, around the edges.

I'm just about to go out and photo my LED rear numberplate lights I popped in earlier, so I can get a few Xenon headlight shots if you wish...

That would be awesome... Thanks

Didn't get round to it, but no worries - I'll get some tomorrow for you :)

You managed to get some LED's that worked then Steve?

No problem... looking forward to see the pics.

Yeah, got some from Shiny Autos - Premier Automotive Lighting - seem to be working fine

I'd be interested to know how long they last you Steve...... I went through 3 sets in about 6-8 months....... One then the other would keep blowing and would either half light up or flash on/off....... I've ended up putting the normal bulbs back in. The interior LED lights i have have been in for approaching a year so far though!!!

If they work out OK i might go for a set of the same as you have got.

Cheers

Dave.

Yep, time will tell. Suppose they're a bit more vulnerable than interior ones, but still fairly well sealed in.

There are some crappy offerings available, no doubt - so hopefully these will do the trick. I'm not bothering changing these every couple of months  - so originals will go back in otherwise. Nothing ventured etc...

Cheers,

Steve
