I'm guessing that Auto Express is right but I have seen frequent references to the Roomster Scout having been "lifted". Like, here in Autocar. Or having

an increase in ride height

like here.

Does anyone know the definitive truth about the height of the Roomster Scout?! i.e. is it the roof bars or the raised suspension that makes it taller? (The Roomster range brochure gives just one height measurement as far as I can tell).

I've never seen any official Skoda quote saying it has a greater ride height.

In the brochure your link points to, there is a diagram showing ground clearance and height, I've just got to compare these figures with the standard Roomster to get my answer.

I have the same initial question and am wondering how the increased height in the Scout is achieved. Is it with different springs/shock absorbers OR buy using a spacer in the suspension mounting?

I am looking at buying a Roomster to replace a FIAT Doblo and like to 'high up' feeling; however my wife is not sure about all the plastic bumpers etc. (of the Scout), so I was idly thinking of getting, say, a Roomster 2 and getting the suspension lifted a la Scout. Possible?

It lists the ride height of the standard Roomy as 140mm suggesting that there is no extra groung clearance as suggested by Auto Express (Who should be banned from writing anything about cars due to their lazy attitude to facts)

Best thing you can do is take one for a test drive and see what you and the Missus think of it in the real world.

not very scientific, but, when I collected mine last week, I filled up in tesco's and a roomy2 was at the pump directly next to mine and there looked to the naked eye to be no difference (looking head on)

the scout gives an impression perhaps of being taller because of the meaty cladding and lack of rubbing strips, combined with the roof rails.

According to the broucher (sp?) there is no differance in height.

Following on Decrons pointing out the same 140mm of ground clearance on each... I re-noticed that the approach & departure angle if anything seems to be worse on the Scout! Must have to do with the Scouts rear bumpers silvery insert... The vehicles hight seems to indeed be the difference in the Scouts standard roof rails thus the 1657mm hight or 43-57mm greater hight over a standard roomy upon which figure you choose to believe. Most accurate seems to be 1607mm though I've seen in Skodas' own materials 1600mm & 1650mm also listed. As these figures are based on kerb weight might vary with the heavier engined models!!!

The best way is to go from the centre of the wheel as thats always going to be consistant.

Measuring the Scout using the same method....

85mm on the rear (Both sides). 70mm on the front.

Half a tank of diesel and nothing in the boot.
