Awsome GTI or Impossible Performance??

Featured Replies

Called both impossible and awsome today to get a quote on eibach spring and getting them fitted. I was quite amazed and suprised by the difference in the 2 quotes.

1. Impossible Performance quoted

You can buy direct from eibach themselves like i did unsure if there any cheaper though. Awesome i think are expensive but cheapest is not allways best. Ive never had anything fit by impossible but as for Awesome i was rather impressed. And Why dont you ask Awesome to match the price or get closer to the price. If you would prefer them to fit them. Also Awesome may have put in the price for checking your tracking etc.

I had Jabba Fit my Eibach dampers and springs and iam sure they supply too while i think about it.

how much are a set of eibach springs AND dampers?

I just fitted springs to my corsa and it destroyed the ride

I trust the eibach kit on the fabia keeps the smooth ride?

Does changing the suspension compromise the handling?

Do both include four wheel alignment?

Do both include four wheel alignment?

I'm pretty sure Awesome always include 4 wheel laser alignment, not sure about IP. My advice would be make sure you do it though whoever you go with or any saving will cost you in tyres.

Carnt tell you how much i paid for springs and dampers. You lose the soft ride of the standard VRS. I found it comfortable and handle really well on stock 16" iam now running 18" wheels and its painfull at times. 17" wheels (what i used to have) were ok for me but now and again on a bad road you really felt it.

The fitting is going to be the same weather you have new dampers and/or just springs fitted.

Its a guess but i think if you lowered the fabia on just springs ull keep the comfort and will handle really well. I know Ethan has his lowered on stock dampers and was smooth and handled rather well.

Have you thought about just buying the Jabba ARB that will change the handling 100% Ask ChrisRS iam sure he will give his opinion. on this mod.

Impossible Performance do not include 4 wheel Lazer alignment.

I had my Eibach Springs fitted by Impossible, and... a 4 wheel lazer alignment can be had for 25-35 quid. Which is still more suitable for you to go to Impossible.

When do you plan on being there?

Depending on when you plan to get them fitted, if you do get them fitted by Impossible, We could meet up there, and drive to Elite in Rainham, who will do the alignment for 30-35 quid I think?

Just been talking to my GF and she and i remember having the tracking checked after it was lowered and it didnt need doing it was perfect. Still cost the

Correct, it doesnt neccesarily need adjusting after springs, it's only after going for coilovers it's worth checking. But as you said, it's still worth doing.

 I cannot believe they still charged you

But the Fabia only needs 2 wheels alligned as the rear ones are fixed and no adjustment. Just need to place the four instruments on each wheel. Make sure they are vertical and hey presto. They can read the settings off. I took my VRS to reputable garage and drove onto the ra,ps with the scuff plates. It only took them 2 minutes to get the gear on and read off my settings. There were two people working on it at the time. But they did not do any work to the vehicle and therefore no money would be expected to change. I hate companies that try and pull the wool over our eyes and charge for something when they shouldnt. I have been stung before when I have been charged for something that was not done and am always very careful now.

Will you be expecting to pay your Skoda dealer for you inspection service too?

There are four sensors on the car hence four wheel alignment. Regardless of whats adjustable it measures the front wheel alignment to the back of the vehicle to make sure the alignment is straight. If you were only to check the fronts then you couldnt possbily know if the thrust angle of the car is actually right.

And as for not charging if you dont find anything that needs adjusting..lol. Ever bought a house? You have to pay for a survey done on your property regardless if they have found anything as someone has taken time to do it.

My point was the price. Its a quick job to check. If you took your car into a tyre garage and said "could you check my tyre. I think there is a cut in the tyre wall and its not safe" You wouldnt expect him or her to charge you for checking it would you? We pay people for servies that really are not chargeable or proportionate to the service provided. My garage charges me

It takes me half an hour to set up our wheel alignment equipment including the required calibration. Regardless if your wheel alignment needs adjusting you have to pay for my time on the car (after all I want to get paid by my employers). Half an hours labour is around

As mentioned impossible does not include the allignment but is still cheaper. Back to another question, is there any wher to buy the eibach springs in London other than Impossible which is in kent.

I know a mechanic who will fit the springs for

Jabba are closer to London being in Peterborough. Worth giving them a bell.

Oh give over. If you do a proper four wheel alignment it takes a good half hour at least to fit the gear and set it up to read the measurements.

If it was the full 4wheel alingment i had done i wouldnt of cared about spending

Hi

We do the geo check and adjust on ALL suspension work on the front

The prices I quotes INCLUDED the geo check

What is the point on spening loads of money on tyres and suspension if you are going to put it back on the road without the check and adjust IF required

There are less and less cars on the road that will get away without this done after any work done on the front suspension and steering

I know myself for a FACT that the geo has been out on my car before and the handling has been cr*p

I am sure that you would be will miffed if you had spent that money on EXCELLENT springs and fitted for the handling to be shocking (forgive the pun)

I myself would not quote for any suspension or steering work to be done without geo afterwards and ALWAYS recomend this to be done

On another point , we do post out the majority of our products and can the springs

Postage on these would be
