My car has been getting serviced at a local garage rather than skoda.

As such when i turn the car on it beeps and the word service is flashed up on the odo meter.

How do i turn this off?

thanks i don't want to have to pay skoda.

As long as your not on variable servicing it tells you how to do it in there.

ignition off, hold in right hand button on the speedo ,switch on ignition ,release button. if you a left one too, turn it to the right. if you only have one turn it to the right . if inspection light comes on , press in again then turn to the right. it depends on models.

The service display light is determined by the dash panel insert, which measures days and milage inbetween servicing. when the counter meets its preset (set by VAS 5051B i.e. a dealer) It turns on the service light with a round 900 miles till service is due.

Thus Can only be reset by a dealer.

I have seen some after market tools for reseting VAG service lights, But have no idea if they work or not.
