I'll add a bit seeing as I've done this last week.

To make it easier to get the bulb out: once you've taken the trim off from the centre console and removed the control kn0bs, have a look at the heater control panel and you will see the front section of it is held on by five plastic clips - three on the top, two on the bottom. If you get a small flat-bladed screwdriver you can gently release the top clips then as soon as you start to prise one of the bottom clips off the whole front part of the heater control panel will come off in your hand and you will be able to pull the single bulb out from behind the fan speed switch and fit the new bulb. The front panel will then clip straight back on.

The bulb is a 12v 1.2w wedge base one by the way.
