Well it seemed to show too on a recent track day, I have witnesses...

Felt like more than that ;)

interestingly the PD150 Golf weighs 1388kg

Mystery weight!

That bigger turbo must weigh loads more..... :D

The PD150 has some different internals though too doesn't it? Stronger I thought....and perhaps heavier?

Also the standard FMIC on the 150 must weigh more than the diddy 130 SMIC, as will the bigger brakes.

Not only that but doesn't the 150 get Recaros? Don't they weigh more?

Jeremy Clarkson said on Top Gear that the old Golf GTi (the one before the current one) was SLOWER than a Skoda Octavia diesel.

So i expect the Fabia Vrs is just as quick at least.

That's the petrol one I think. the 1.8 N/A not worthy of a GTi badge in the slightest.

The GT TDi Golf MK4 is the same engine (PD130) but they also did a PD150 model.

the N/A 1.8 is actually a very good engine, its the old 8v 2.0 like they put in the fabia thats the dog. uses more fuel, revs slower and makes less power than the 1.8

Indeed it is a very good engine but hardly a GTi now surely?

I think a very cheap & good used buy is the Golf Mk4 GTi 1.8T 150bhp.
