Any of you (real) vRS types want an ECU?

Featured Replies

Well - I don't bloody want it so perhaps one of you techie vRS Octavia types would like a second ECU for your car? :D

It's HERE

Can I sound a note of caution. The advertised ECU is actually for an AUM (FWD VVT DBW manual) or ARX (4X4), not an AUQ (vRS) engine. Chassis numbers the part would fit are as below. These chassis numbers go up the end of MY 2001, ie 30 Apr 2001.

ARX

Good point Denis - I assumed the seller knew for sure all applications of it... God damn I'll learn to do my own research when it comes to what people are "claiming" on there! :D

6 hours to go and someone with "Jabba" in their ebay title has got highest bid on this ECU... This anyone on here? :) I've sent you mail anyway. ;)

This post should probably be put in the "was it you" forum I suppose.

It could be used as the basis for a modded ECU, ie a rechip or a Jabba remap, with the OEM ECU being kept to return the car to standard. Jason can advise on how! :D

Yep - as long as you have your four digit immobiliser code to the car, this ECU can be adapted to be used as a standard ECU when Jabba power is not necessary ("when's that?" I hear you all cry!) Not tempted then Denis?

What I wonder is where a brand new ECU came from? "Off the back of a lorry" is a phrase that springs to mind... I mean it's still in it's wrapping!

BTW - the seller replied to my query about ECU's application possibilities (i.e not for vRS, only other 1.8Ts) and I was told by him his dealer told him it was a vRS ECU... what a good quality, well informed dealer that must be!
