New Sachs clutch!!!

Featured Replies

Just ordered my sachs clutch kit from jabba!!:D :D :D

It should be coming on friday with my ARB and eibachs! i cant f*cking wait! should be getting them fit next thursday, just waiting to here back from the garage with a quote, if its not to bad im gunna get some new dicks as well!

My question is, how should i be driving with the new clutch, a guy told me the longer ur nice to em the longer they will last and the stronger theyl b. What revs do i wanna keep it under and what gears for what speeds should i be in?

How many miles do i need to take it steady for clutch and how many miles for the disks? (if i get em)

Was on jabba looking at PD150 turbo package...........one step at a time john!:P

Hey mate - me again! What disks you planning on getting? Should be a good day when you get that done!

P.S. In the third line you have spelt discs, 'dicks' by mistake ... people might get the wrong idea! hehe.

got the clutch kit and bearing for

John , you have far too much money

why don't you get the Seat Ibiza Cupra console bushes fitted at the same time as the clutch is fitted , the subframe will be taken off to remove the gearbox , so the bushes are a doddle to do with it off, just an idea anyway

any part numbers for console bushes,

was thinking bout getting PowerFlex bushes for front end are these the same thing?

Front Wishbone Front and Rear Bush

Front Wishbone Front and Rear Bush

console bush P/N 6LL 407 183 , available from Seat dealers , deffo worth doing

Powerflex do the front wishbone bush , whether they are worth fitting is a matter of opinion

I'm getting them done at the end of the week, when my new suspension's going on.

Why - firms up turn-in and aid steering 'feel'

Benefit - as above :)

Cost - Cupra ones for the rear of the front w/bone are around

ok, sounds good, iv been doing a search on here tho and a special vag tool is needed and my guy wont have that so im gunna have to leave it for now and get them done when i put new brakes on. (not putting new brakes on yet as the labour was to expensive!)

if you're putting the 312mm brakes on, the Cupra bushes are an absolute must

if the subframe is off , there are only a couple of bolts to remove to free off the consoles , the original bushes can be carefully split with a hack saw and pushed out by hand , then it is just a matter of pressing/pushing/pulling in the new bushes(depending on toolage)

i fitted bushes into my spare consoles in about 30 mins , but i had already made up a special tool to fit them with , so i reckon about 1.5 hours total with a competant mech doing the job with suitable tools with the subframe off the car
