What might I forget?

Featured Replies

Myself and a couple of mates hopefully, will be imminently removing the engine / gearbox / ancillaries out of my wreck, but what might I forget to retrieve out of it before the shell gets smashed up by a swingshovel and "disposed" of? :D

What's out/off so far are:

All seats

All wheels

Front suspension

Trim (where'd that go?)

I just need to think now, about bits that may be useful. My list so far is front door speakers (and any others that survived), clutch, airbag units, dashboard.

Anything I may forget? Merci

I would be tempted to save anything which is reusable, as soon as the shell goes for crushing either you or someone else will need some tiny little screw or bung or bit of plastic.

I know what you mean, but the shell will not be "going" for crushing - Call it a DIY job. ;) I've just thought I'd better remove all the wiring that runs through the chassis - could be useful for something...

Hope you are not putting it out for the bin men ;)

Try not to damage the various bits of wiring loom when removing them , could be worth a fair bit at a later date.

Have you rescued the wipe motors and mechanisms?

What about glass? Did any survive the accident?

wiper "motors" will be fine - the all three blades did not survive :D

I think the only glass is drivers door and two rears... nothing else.

I've just thought about natty lights like the ones in the roof (nav light etc) and the high level light at the back. :D

Get the wiring loom from the engine to ECU, the engine might not be much use without it.

You have x2 PM's Jason
