vRS Question please

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hope I'm, not going to feel stupid asking this, but I'm thinking of buying a Fabia vRS but not too sure what the difference is between the models I've seen??

I've seen the:-

Fabia 1.9 TD vRS

and the

Fabia 1.9 TDi PD 130 vRS ???

Is it the 2nd one is the one with 130bhp, because I presume all the Fabia vRS's had 130 bhp.

Thanks for looking

Cheers

MarkT.

There is only one Fabia vRS.

It is a 130 tdi pd 130, in whatever nomenclature you see it.

hth

Yep, there are only 2 flavours of vRS (vRS and vRS SE) and both a powered by the same 130 PD TDI lump :D

Chris

For some reason when getting insurance quotes there were 3 types :?

VRS TDI

VRS PD

VRS PD (130)

And one was 200 quid more expensive for me

Just tell them it is a VRS sdi and see what quote you get :D

Then go back and refine your online quote with the cheapest vRS variant listed :)

Hi all,

Many thanks for all your help Guys, glad that I can now carry on looking around at vRS's knowing that they're all the same model!!!

Thanks again

MarkT.

I think the admiral thing might be something to do with pre- and post- facelift, but not sure where the 3rd one comes in.

Why this issue still comes up when you've usually entered the reg number to start with is beyond me though!

Should remove the issue of this happening.

Steve

but (as in my case) if you haven't bought the car yet you might not know the reg

or (also as in my case) even if you've been driving a brand new car for a week, it might still not have made it onto the insurance guys radar.

Fair point on the new car issue, but I'd always get the reg of a 'second-hand' car I was looking to buy, for insurance purposes as well as HPI.

Steve

Try getting an online quote with admiral and see what comes up with the 3 different choices

I'm with Admiral! I think mine says vrs tdi

I'm with Admiral! I think mine says vrs tdi

Yep thats what mine is insured as. I remember when I phoned I had a choice of three, I told them they were all the same car, but yetI still had to choose one. Didn't realise they could of been different prices :o

Which was the cheapest then Joel?

All are done as a 19 year old with 2 years driving, 0 ncb, Category A safety rating on the area,

I'd go for the top one - covers everything!

Just more evidence, I suppose, that this insurance game is all smoke and mirrors!

Steve

I might give Flux a ring, and Brentacre as I hear they're quite good.

I recon its down to the different version. Eg Euro IV or whatever their is.

Just a guess.

Euro IV engine compliance didn't come in until 2006 though John, hence the 'stutter' issue.

2004's just random, because it isn't even about facelift then. My first one was a March 2004, but wasn't a facelift.

Steve

Wow, they're a lot of money.

Good to see I choose the most expensive option then :rofl:

Well it'll be

Those quotes are for a 10 month policy!!!!

so the real 12 month is

Like I say I will get a quote from Brentacre and Flux as well.

I have been on my parents policies for 2 years and it has been

Mate - My quote is
