CD Changer problem on vRS (new member)!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just found this forum, looks top!

Wonder if anyone out there could give me some advice: my cd changer has decided to give up the ghost and will not load CDs (comes up with either 'no cd' or 'cd error' message. Its the standard Skoda 6 disc option and has been mounted under the passenger seat. This leads me on to the next question which is assuming it needs replacing, has anyone got experience of how to extract the changer???

cheers all :)

To change it ideally you need to remove the seat to access some of the fixings. I assume you don't have any warranty on the car?

Try searching as the CD Changer issue comes up every now and then.

I had a simlar problem with the CD changer under the seat on the furbie vRS I had......The fault was with the Radio not picking up the CD's....New Radio under warranty, problem solved......Hope this Helps,..............Andy

Thanks guys, unfortunately no warrenty :( .

Will give the seat off route a go. Might have to be time to get a Haynes manual. Happy with most DIY type work, its just removing the plastics that always scares me! (Any hints on this greatly received)!.

Make sure you get the right tool to remove the seat bolts, they are supposed to be replaced once removed.

Mine is a bit crap as well, tells me to check the magazine a lot. Took me ages to find out that 'magazine' refers to the 6 disk CD holder rather than a special magazine that is part of the manual.

Mine is out of warranty and I am planning to swap the head unit for an after-market mp3/ipod with bluetooth. I think CDs are a little 20th century.
