Which would be the best donor car for a BAM engine and transmission swap? A TT, S3 or Cupra R? Or doesn't it matter?

wouldn't matter but i would suggest getting the driveline components as well as the standard 5 speed doesn't take to kindly to greater power and abuse, i have blown up 2 standard boxes now(one was original and had done 90k previously, 2nd one blew up at about 25k of my driving and running 200-260bhp over that time) and Stuart J destroyed a couple gears in his when running 300bhp+

Cupra R wont be much use, its 2wd.

yes but only in spain or somewhere like that, not in the UK sadly.

Only a LHD 4x4 MK1 Leon and it runs either a 150bhp PD or the 2.8 24v VR6.

How big job would it actually be to swap engine and transmission from a TT or S3 to a 4x4 Octavia? Would any parts need to be modifed?

Its been well covered on here before by the likes of Stuart, Bengie and of course Eddy, I am doing such a conversion in the next few weeks.
