new posts/my posts

Featured Replies

can someone answer me this question please?

my threads or replies seem to be invisible.

eg: posted a thread in the ask a tech section, after posting it i clicked on new posts to check if it was there, it wasn't .

or if i log off and come back to see if there's been a reply ,my thread isn't in the new posts list.

yet when i go to the relevant section there are replies to it.

i thought it was maybe a freedom thing, but since i joined its been the same:confused:  have i broken briskoda?

Do you need to log in each time? See, depending on how your cookies are set, Briskoda will (or won't) remember you when you next log in. If it remembers you, it will be from before so you'll need to refresh each screen. I don't know if that's right or not, but it seems to be how it works on the computers I use. In other words, it's more likely to be a cookies issue than a Freedom issue.

You will know that I know nothing of course, so feel free to ignore.

If you make a post and then click the view new posts, unless there has been a reply, you won't see it.

If you want to search for all posts then use the 'Today's Posts' button.

Isn't Jason saying though that there are replies which he can see only when he opens the relevant section? :ne_nau:

if you create a post or reply to a thread, then although the post/reply is new, because you created the post/reply its deemed to have been read hence does not show on the new posts search as you have technically already read it. Until someone else replies to the thread/post at which point the new posts search will work because you wont have read that reply. For example after I hit the post button on this reply then I wont see this thread under new posts untill someone else replies.

cookies are enabled so the site does remember me.

but if i am away from the pc or on another site, and come back to briskoda later on.

click on new posts, and my thread isn't included in the list even if someone has replied to it.

this thread included.i had to navigate to the thread, rather then seeing it in the list of new posts and clicking on it.

edit:its in todays new posts not new posts.

odd or is it me? seem strange that its in todays new posts, but not new posts(it was posted today after all).
