Headlight Washer Blocked

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I noticed on the way back from Helmsley the other night that my offside headlight washer isn't on. Is it fairly easy to get off to blast the nozzles or can I get a pipe off to clean it that way??

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

I did do a search on this to see if there was anything. Somebody did say you have to take the whole bumper off??

However can you get to the pipe at all as I've got a mini can of compressed air which may blow it out??

Cheers

According to my Haynes, you have to take the bumper off, unfortunately! There is a clip on the other side which holds the nozzle in place :(

On a brighter note, the front bumper is really easy to remove.

Maybe you got peanut butter in it?

LOL,

Thank's Phil, That's what I thought with the peanut butter.

Anyway I took the headlight out for a butchers and if you undo a couple of the bumper screws I just managed to see inside. Turns out the pipe had fell off the end.

You can actually get the clip off with the bumper in place if you are careful and with a bit of jiggling about I got the end back on.

Surfice to say I can now cover the bonnet in spray from both sides again.

Was a bit of a fiddle and suitable scraped knuckles (you get used to that with a Lotus!!!!) all is well again.

Cheers

Glad you got it sorted. Water marks on both sides now! woohoo

Don't that just p!ss you off though :(

You clean and polish your car then use your wipers once and .................

It's not too bad on mine, with it being white they are not too visible. It would irritate me on a dark colour, though!
