Key coding immob

Featured Replies

Hi, first (daft:D ) question from me, my car purchased yesterday only came with one key, it says in the handbook that there's a tag on the key ring with the number of the encoded key that should be used to replace any lost keys, thats missing too, probably down a drain with the other key:mad:

Is this still possible to get a replacement key and is the main dealer the only option for the replacement;)

1998 Octy 1.6 estate with non remote locking:(

Thanks in advance:thumbup:

Some companies will cut a key from pattern or a photo, and clone the immobiliser imformation from your working key. To code to the immobiliser, officially you need the PIN for your car, a dealer can get it but they need the 14 digit immobiliser serial number which means that they will have to plug into the car to get it.

Enquire at some key cutting places, if you do not have any luck it will be a dealer job.
