Hello, does anyone know of a reputable Skoda friendly garage that will make a decent job of checking the alignment on my 2006 Octy MKII VRS ?

It was bought brand new by me ( so hasnt had a biff ! ) but was way off on delivery, and was allegedly "sorted" by the four wheel alignment team at the AUDI dealers in Sheffield ( my Skoda dealers do not have their own set-up ) and although it was apparently "way-out" on delivery it is now "okay".

I am not so sure, although it is wearing it's tyres relatively evenly it is very twitchy, and has a definite desire to pull to the right - even against camber.

I am otherwise happy with the car, in fact delighted, but it does not drive like the demonstrator !

The wheel sits ever so slightly to the right even when driving in the middle of dead straight roads, and under acceleration it pulls to the right ( not "torque steer", also in sixth gear at 70mph )

I am hoping that it is simply a case of getting someone with the correct alignment settings for my car to set it up and it will be okay, but due to a previous problem ( see my posting regarding suspension creaking ) I have a worry at the back of my mind that the chassis is not "true".

Any help appreciated.

Preferably within an hours drive from Huddersfield, but will consider further afield if very reputable !

A proper 4 wheel laser alignment should cover it.

Cheers Stu, ( you are always first to offer good advice ! ) , but do you know anywhere local that you can recommend ? I see that geographically you are not far from me, and I want to go somewhere that knows the specific settings for my cars geometry.

( If anyone knows the settings........It would be greatly appreciated...........I know they were on here before, but they were a scan from a manual, and I couldnt read them clearly )

The only place I would recommend for a 4 wheel alignment is Powerstation in Cheltenham. They know their stuff and can literally work miracles on any car's handling....
