need advice on Black Diamond disc.....

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of purchasing the Black Diamond Combi discs and predator pads.

I'm a bit confused about fitment, so I thought I'll confirm it before buying.

I have a 05 Octavia vRS, with 16" standard Skoda Alloys.

I think the disc size should be 288mm. Am I right?

And for the pads, will the Predator pads for the 1.8T 2wd 20V (5/98>) fit my car?

here's the link of the pads

Black Diamond / Predator Pads 'Fast Road' (Front) / Skoda Octavia 1.8 Turbo 20v, (5/98>) / Euro Performance Car Parts

Advice would be appreciated as I wont be able to return them if they don't fit, cos they will be brought to India by a relative.

If I am right the vrs has 312mm at the front, same as the TT. You have a non UK spec car though with the 16inch wheels and 150 bhp rather than 180 do not know that that will make any difference spec wise for the brakes.

I'm told 312mm discs will fit behind the 16" vRS alloys (as fitted to the Fabia in the UK) - so I'd be surprised if your Indian version had different brakes to the UK version. Different wheels, I can understand. To give you an idea, 288mm discs will look like this behind 16" wheels:

If there's less space around the disc than on the picture above, I'd say you have 312mm. Failing that, try bodging a set of calipers with a ruler and a couple of pencils! ;)

Picture????

On the point about pads, if Indian caliper specs are the same as European ones, you should see the code FS III or FN3 cast into them.

Picture????

Yeah, picture. ;)

HTH :D

Yeah, picture. ;)

Yeah, that's a picture all right. ;) The same one as in post #3?

Glad we cleared that one up! :D:rofl:

I think I'll do just that. The best bet would be to measure the discs with a vernier.

question 2: In case the disc is 312 mm, then which is the Black Diamond disc for me, as they dont have that listed for the Octy?

also the spec of the Indian car is 150 bhp, but it's the AUM engine detuned to 150. Custom Code Stage 1 in India takes it to 200bhp straight away....

apo0gee,

Thanks a lot.

I found the brake disc on the site for the vRS. They do have a 312 mm disc for listed for the vRS. And yes to my knowledge the UK spec and the Indian spec vRS are exatcly the same apart from the 16" wheels and full options on the Indian spec.
