oil light felicia

Featured Replies

Here I admit to being very bad, my oil light came on and I drove a few more miles to get home - topped up the oil and went on my way the next day - poor thing was not happy, left it where I could work on it and did an oil and filter change - the oil light is still flickering on so I haven't driven it again. Here I have a couple of questions:

1 - It's a Preg 1.3 LXi - any idea what's dead?

2 - Can you fit the same tow bar to a favorit?

(See already expecting it to be dead and thinking about the next one - was a brilliant car)

Any answers/suggestions hey replies in general gratefully read

How much was needed to top it up? Is the engine noisier now than it was before the light came on? If not it's "possible" the oil pressure switch has become faulty and telling you the pressure is low when it isn't...hopefully! Worth trying a replacement anyway for a fiver.

Aha - the thought of the light being faulty occurred to me but with it flickering I figured that wasn't the case but the pressure switch is something to think of. With revving it goes out and it didn't take very much oil at all and the light only comes on after a few moments once the oil gets warm.

Thanks muchly for your reply

Does anyone know whether the same tow bar for the felicia fits a favorit?

I'd agree with Dave. Had the same thing happen to me once, just after doing an oil change.

Did the engine temperature show any signs of climbing above "normal"?
