Another New VRS arrives!

Featured Replies

A week after the birth of my son, my VRS TFSi arrived! Top week or what eh?:orb_bounc

Initial impressions are good although I detect a slight rattle from the rear and a very mild suspension creak on pulling away. I'll allow it to bed in a little before taking it in to have it sorted out.

Goes and steers well, but then you already know that!

I've had little chance to use it with the new baby taking up so much time - still only showing 18 miles and 14 of those were the journey home from the dealership with the clock only showing 4 miles on collection.

maybe I'll have a chance in the week eh!

I think I might have the same rattle. Is it quite quiet, high frequency and from parcel shelf-ish area? More of a buzz than a rattle?

I only notice it on some roads when I have the radio off. which is most days car sharing. No creaks though.

Still miles better than my old Renault.

I might also have the same buzz/rattle - definitely from the back part of the car (parcel shelf, rear sets, boot, etc.) only at some speeds and on some road surfaces. I've tried emptying the boot of the stuff that's normally in there, but the noise persists. Interestingly, when the boot is loaded with stuff, I do not appear to get the noise. I was wondering whether the hardboard spare wheel cover, affixed to the underside of the boot carpet may be the cause?

I might have the same buzz. I plan to drive a road that produces the noise with the spare wheel kit out to see if that eliminates it.

Mine isn't a buzz. Most definitely an interim rattle. I've only done 33 miles so far so haven't had a chance to really have a proper listen.

New-born babies just don't give you any time!

My daughter too has a slight rattle from the rear, usually followed by some hazardous emissions :)

Ohhhhh you meant the car ;)

Congrats on both arrivals

It did read a bit wrong didn't it!!

cheers chap!

Surprisingly, mine seems fine, well I say that, I have had a rattle but I put this down to a sunblind on the rear offside passenger window. Perhaps, I should run some tests.....then again, perhaps I'll live with it and keep reassuring myself it's only the blind. Still it has onlky happened at certain speeds on some roads.
