New Fabia Stutter

Featured Replies

Has anyone bought or had a demo drive in the new Fabia Tdi 105 BHP ?

Does it stutter, or as the dealer says "it has the engine from the Octavia range" thus implying that it is OK.

My September 2006 100 Bhp Fabia Estate has the stutter which was somewhat improved when they replaced the gasket.

The point here is that the dealer claimed that the stutter only applied to the VRS NOT TRUE as previous Briskoda posters have confirmed

Cheers :finger:

It's a stutterer; essentially the same EUIV setup of the vRS and 100BHP TDi in the old model.

NEW FABIA 105Bhp Tdi The question is ---- has anyone test driven or purchased the NEW FABIA 105BHP 1.9TDI Diesel and could they please report on any STUTTER with that engine ?

Is it just me or is this guy extremely rude?

Posting up a :finger: and then repeating the question in a more firm manner after someone has answered it for you.....

Also, this post should be in the Fabia II section should it not?

No, that not right. The 105bhp PD engine is quite a bit different being controlled by a very different ECU. It should also be fitted with a DPF. It's also been in use in the Golf V for about 3 years now without many issues.

All the PD 105's I have drive have been fine.

Yeah, got you the first time. See above.

Perhaps you should try posting this in the Fabia 2007 section. You might find someone who doesn't mind the fact you can't read :finger:

In the new Passat the 105 Bhp and 140 Bhp can be ordered either with or without the DPF, the dealer is supposed to ask what mileage and type of driving you do then recommend the right model!

I would like to humbly apologise for putting a finger smily at the end of my message. I obviously had a touch of finger trouble. It should have been a thumbs up.

It seems that the 105BHP is OK. I'll try it myself soon.

it's a 1.9 8v TDI that's available across the VAG range.

once again... the stutter is only evident on the 130 spec engine, the 105 spec doesn't have the same problem.

which isn't even a problem anyway :P

Not a problem to you maybe, but others may disagree. The 100BHP TDI from the old model is definitely affected, so not just the 130. Salesman told me not to buy the 105BHP in the new model if I wanted a stutter-free life, so who knows about that one.

Yep the old PD100 is affected as Kerry says - BPX engine code IIRC.

All to shave off a little CO2 which they don't even look at in the MOT anyway.

Buy the 105 and turn the EGR down or fit another gasket.

Then again, not sure how that would affect any warranty on the EGR valve etc.

Yeah, but surely the environmental performance is important...

3gm/km......that's all you're saving on the stuttering cars compared to the non stuttering ones. You save far more by pumping up your tyres, using biofuel and not caning it, in addition to saving fuel and
