Leather seats fitted! - Warning large pics

Featured Replies

Took the car in on Friday to Seat Surgeons in York to have em put in.

All I can say is wow....these guys know what they're doing.

Dropped the car off at 08:30 and it was finished by 13:30 when they called me to collect it. That's fast!

Anyway, I haven't stopped grinning since having it done. Being in the car feels so much more special now. Skoda should've fitted this as standard as it finishes is off nicely.

I had the seats done all in black with perforated centres and grey stitching to match the body colour. I also went for the door cards too as the standard cloth marks too easily, and also it's more of a complete job.

I did play it safe by going for all black but now I've seen it I'm happy with my decision. It looks very classy.

Anyway, as this thread would be useless without pics, here are some. :D

Enjoy.

Very nice indeed!!!

However, personally, I'd like the top perforated panel normal leather, and the vRS badge put in the OEM location - but thats a minor detail!

Very nice.

My only gripes are that the leather doesn't grip you quite as well as the cloth did, so the seats aren't quite as good in the corners as they were. They also have extra padding in the centre bits meaning you don't quite sink into the seats as much as before and the side bolsters don't hug you as much.

They can creak a little too as the leather rubs together between the top and lower part of the seats.

But otherwise I'm very pleased.

The car is geting handed to the missus when I've paid it off so having these kinds of upgrades is ideal.

They look even better in the flesh

I aint one bit jealous tho....... honest ;)

Thanks again for the seat covers chris, i am gunner have a go at the rear one this evening so fingers crossed shoudnt be much hassle.

The colours you have gone for really do suit the silver fabia. The oem look full black seats really do contrast nicley with the silver paint. And the grey stiching breaks the black up nicley.

They do look amazing, i should have brought our lass to see them today might have been easyer to persuade her that wasting my loan on them is a good idea.

only one thing missing now from the pimped fabia..... Cruise control :D shall i price up the stalks tomorrow while i am at the dealer?

LOL. Wondered when you'd be on mate. :D

It'll be a couple of months before I can afford the cruise control now. Wedding comes up next month so I'll be uber-skint after that. But by all means, price up the stalk etc. I think it comes to about

Now you just need to clean your steering wheel! ;)

Ha! Bloody fluff......the steering wheel seems to attract it, same as the speedo console.

In terms of the cruise control, I'm going by Stu's guide. The loom and that I imagine would beef up the price somewhat. We'll see anyway. I wont be fitting it myself either. Too scary.

I meant the leather, yours is very shiny and black, its supposed to be a very dark matt grey (not quite black). Get some autoglym leather cleaner and some leather care cream on it. ;)

Oh I see. Sorry. :)

I bought some cleaner/ carer today. Seat Surgeons also gave me some stuff to use - like foamy cleaner. Will give that a go.

It's probably all my dead skin (and the previous owners) on there that's been buffed to a lovely shine. Mmm....yummy. :D

Did you see my car parked opposite?

Whereabouts? There was a yellow calibra there too with rusty arches.......can't remember a silver Octy.....

That looks sweet as fook! Good service too , that would leave just enough time to walk round the railway museum...again...lol (thinking ahead..haha!)

Heh. Well I work in York, so I just dropped it off on the way in and a workmate brought me into the office etc.

The seat covers come in already assembled and they just take off the old cloth ones and fit the new leather ones, in addition to glueing on the door cards.

4 hours fitting isn't bad going though. :)

. I wont be fitting it myself either. Too scary.

Its only the air bag bit thats scary, rest is just alot of T20 torx action!

Yeah, you watch, it'll go bang in my face and take my head clean off. :D

Will be handy though. Log distances where you can sit at a set speed. ;)

Looks better than factory finish! :D

Could you let me know how much and where you get your cruise control fitted?

Cheers :D

God you must be blind.

As you drive down the business park with the Seat Surgeons on your right, I park in the car park on the left which is opposite.

Ah well. The seats look good though

Perhaps your car's a little too anonymous? Try fitting Lexus light clusters and 18" spinners and come back to me. I'd notice you then, but not in a good way. :D

I was too busy looking for Seat Surgeons to notice anything else really. Never been down that business park before and had no idea where I was going. Plus I was just thinking "seats seats seats seats seats seats seats seats seats seats" :P

Haha. It's OK. I quite like the stealth approach ;)
