Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally 2004 gains new partner

Featured Replies

The Dukeries Rally has gained a new partner and event sponsor in the form of local car dealership Rainworth Skoda leading to the 2004 event being titled the "Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally". Preperations for the event are well underway with regulations due out at the end of April and the event itself running on Saturday June 19th 2004

The new sponsorship deal, which is backed by Skoda UK, forms the basis of a long term partnership aimed at promoting rallying in the local area and supporting rally enthusiasts through the Rainworth Skoda dealership and the Skoda brand.

Rainworth Skoda is a family run business with its showrooms just a stones throw away from the Sherwood Forest complexes at Southwell Road, Rainworth, Notts whilst Skoda maintains an impressive rallying pedigree, up to WRC level.

Further information on Rainworth Skoda is available on their website at www.rainworthskoda.co.uk or by telephone on 01623 792057. They offer the complete range of Skoda vehicles for delivery across the UK.

Its good to see a company who is prepared to support rallying. It would be good if their support was rewarded so give them a try for your new car or for your servicing needs if local.

Paul..

Where did you get your car from? ;)

Nice to see a dealership getting involved, any chance of the Group A car appearing?

Hmmmm..... if they wanted to run a WRC I could arrange that for them, well for a fee :D ~ I'm being stalked by a team with 3 WRCs but they still haven't gone for my "well we'd need to test one first" ploy!!!! Bummer :(

Yes I did get my car from them and thats exactly the kind of support they need to allow them to support rallying.

Group A car will be in the process of being converted from gravel (scottish rally) to tarmac (JCMR) during the time of the event I suspect but I believe Phil Morgan is coming to the meeting we are having next Tuesday so who knows? The Gp N car should be available though, as should a WRC 'demo' Fabia and Rainworth have a Felicia ex challenge car which should be out and about too.

I think its excellent that Rainworth have decided to get involved and that Skoda are supporting the event directly as well.

Paul..

Sounds good.

The entry list should be pretty spectacular too :D

Paul & Erik,

I don't suppose any of these "items" would be available as promotional static units for the 24th would they?

The WRC is in the Czech Republic unfortunately. :(

Any others would do...;)

Desperate man here!

Colin,

Tell you what - I shall see what I can do. I believe Rainworth are planning on coming down anyway - or were certainly thinking about it. Maybe I can convince them to bring their Felicia rallycar?

I have a meeting with the head of Skoda Press and PR department next Tuesday and will try to mention the briskoda day and see if she is interested in getting the replica and/or the Gp N car there. How would you feel if they decided to bring along a promotional team with a few cars etc to promote the brand? Would you be happy with that?

Paul...

Back to the thread title - Remember Rainworth Skoda at www.rainworthskoda.co.uk !

Just make sure you speak to the right people... This is the reply that I received from them when I asked if they could promote the meet on the website.

Dear Mr. Uijldert,

Thank you for your email and for Briskodas' continual support of the Skoda marque.

I can confirm that the News and Events section of the website is for activities run by Skoda UK and is not to promote other interests. In addition, we cannot be seen to promote the use of our cars in track racing environment where damage may occur.

I trust that you will enjoy the day thoroughly and want to thank you for taking the time to bring this sort of activity to our attention.

Yours sincerely,

Well this is the actual head of Skodas UK Press and PR so I certainly hope she is the right person. Im obviously discussing the rally sponsorship with her and the Rainworth Skoda - the sponsoring dealership first and foremost but will try to drop the Briskoda day (the fact its a meet more than a trackday will be my focus) into the conversation near the end to see if she will be interested. No guarantees but worth a shot.

Spectator Information for the 2004 Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally is now available on the event website at www.dukeries-rally.co.uk. It has useful colour maps and information on the stage running times. There is also a full seeded entry list now published on the website as well.
