New vRS on order a few questions.

Featured Replies

Hi,

Been looking round here since I ordered a new vRS TFSI last week. Got to say this seems like a decent and really friendly forum.

In all the 'out of date' literature I got when buying the 2.0TFSI it says it has about 200PS but surfing round the net some people are reporting they are getting up to 220PS as standard is this possible? I know Seat and Audi have a 220PS engine they use and was wondering if its had an upgrade since the brochure I was given is out of date and the Skoda UK website is also hosting the same out of date brochure?

Also I see from here that you can have heated seats fitted as an option.. If I ordered it last week do you think it's to late to get them fitted now?

Cheers

Tim.

This has been debated before on many occasions.

It's been suggested in the past that the VAG 2.0T engines made from Sept 2005 onwards and with an engine code beginning BWA regularly put out nearer 220bhp. Not sure how true that is though, I've always thought mine had a few more ponies.

Welcome to Briskoda.

Id give the dealer a call, see if he can add the heated seats to your order.

The engine in the Octavia TFSi is the BWA variant which is around 197 hp.

If you can tell your dealer ASAP you should be able to get the order modified, i think it's possible almost right up to the build date.

Heated seats is DEFFINATELY an option you can add and if you only placed the order last week you should have no trouble including it to your order (do not let your dealer try and covince you otherwise!!).

As for the 220PS from the engine I'd very much doubt it as ALL the standard cars I've seen tested on a rolling road have all produced 200PS or there abouts and as far as I know there is'nt a spec change that includes a more powerful engine than the one it's already got.

I thought there was a few floating about with a few extra ponies as standard :)

Certainly news to me

Great thanks for that I will get on the blower first thing! as for the horses, probably a good thing as i'd probably see the wrong side of a hedge otherwise.....again.

I think the S3 with 220HP uses a bigger turbo for the extra power.

Remeber reading it in Autoexpress a few months back.

Surely if the Skoda engine was over 200 then there would be a bit of an argument from the insurance industry etc etc.

what does anyone need heated seats for? It'll only damage your sperm count!!

The new S3 has 265bhp.

It uses the K04 turbo with stronger internals to match.
