Linux web server

Featured Replies

I need a bit of help from anyone with experience in settings up a linux web server running ISPconfig and phplist.

My problem may not be related to those, but im at a loss!!

I followed the instructions below..

The Perfect Setup - CentOS 5.0 (32-bit) | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

everything is working great ISPconfig all works fine.

I then installed phplist under a no-ip.com domain, i then configured phplist to use a smtp server at the office. so phplist is hosted at domain1.no-ip.org on my home dsl connection and sends to mail.domain2.com. The problem i have is phplist (my server) will not send email to anyone outside of domain2.

So it will send to [email protected] but wont send to [email protected]. It also does the same if i configure it to use my ISP's smtp.

I have a feeling it is something to do with postfix or DNS but i dont know what im doing. I can post a bit from the postfix mail log that i think may shed some light on the situation.

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs

# that require network functionality will fail.

192.168.0.2 server server.example.com

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

i thought this would be the problem, but i dont know what should be in there..

i have a no-ip.org domain, will that not do?

Would my hosts file have to be edited for every domain i host on the server?

ie

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs

# that require network functionality will fail.

192.168.0.2 domain1.no-ip.org

192.168.0.2 domain2.no-ip.org

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

yep.. i changed the hosts file so that it looks like this..

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs

# that require network functionality will fail.

192.168.0.2 domain.no-ip.org

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

and it worked, but as i said it no longer sends to the same domain lol
