APR High Performance Fuel Pump for 2.0T FSI

Featured Replies

Found this on trawling through the Yank forums, looks like they are claiming that this will cure fuel cut issues.................... althought at around

I want...sorry I need this if my plans are to unfold ;)

Am I correct in thinking that this pump is designed for current APR users only?

If that is the case, then I know VF Engineering have their own that will go in conjunction with their big turbo kit.

Would not a fuel pump from the latest S3 do?

Not sure if it's cheaper though.

I had an S3 fuel pump fitted when I had the IHI done.

I think you've currently got to have APR software. What you'd need is a mapper to tweak the fueling to make use of it if you didn't want APR.

I don't think it will be long before we see more of these solutions available, especially in the US where demand is high.

The OEM pump has been revised on later TFSi engines and from what I have seen isn't so suceptable to problems.

There is also an issue with earlier cars suffering cam lobe wear which causes fueling issues.

It's also rumoured that the APR pump is an off the shelf solution, by Hitachi, the same as the OEM. There is every possiblity it is an S3 pump.

I'm still having fuel cut issues with mine. The Forge DV seems to have helped quite a lot as it manages to maintain boost right up to the redline, only stuttering at around 6kRPM but not as harsh as before, and less frequently.

It's only when I have my intake (Injen) fitted that it seems to cause problems. My car is an MY06 and has the older fuel pump fitted. :(

Fitted EVOMS today which sounds great and so far no issues. Having it mapped tomorrow (straight to stageII) along with Milltek TBE, fingers crossed all will be well.

I'm confident it will be Steve. All the cars which have had problems relating to fuel cuts have been MY06.
