Does anybody know if I can read other brand's cars DTC codes with a VAG-COM CanBus cable interface? Maybe with another software or I would need another interface to make it work? I need to scan a Renault Espace.

Try it in OBDII mode, all cars made after a certain date (2003 or 2004?) need to be OBDII compatible. It will be limited if it works and will only be able to do the engine control module. I have used it on a Japanese make (2005 model) after using the factory tool and it came up with exactly the same codes, in addition it even told you how far the car had been driven with the engine light on.

If it's a HEX-CAN then it has basic OBD functionality however this isn't supported by Ross-Tech.

For Porsche I use software called Durametric, for BMW and Mercedes there is a tool called Carsoft if it's of any use to anyone.
