Aux input on MFD2 - Wiring

Featured Replies

Had a go at getting the jumbo box Aux input (on MY07 onwards) working on the retro-fitted MFD2 this afternoon. Seem to have some success!

The three wires coming from the Aux socket are...

Yellow - Aux In Right

Green - Aux In Left

Brown - Aux Earth

I removed these from the blue connector and moved accross to the next socket block (with nothing connected as standard). The connections I used were:

Yellow - EA-R

Green - EA-L

Brown - EA-G

(See attached diagram)

Now plugging my MP3 player in to the AUX socket gives good quality, stereo output while in Aux mode on the MDF2. There is very little (IF ANY) interference and even at full volume the sound is good!

The other alternative to getting the Aux input working is to use the AR-IN and AL-IN on the seperate AV connector. You then have to use the AV option on the MFD2 though, which would be no use if you wanted to watch TV / DVDs / rear camera etc...

Only thing I'm after is a plastic 12-pin connector block for the unused block, anyone know where I can get one / Part No. etc?

Cheers

Ross

Nice one

I was going to have a go at this on Monday when the car arrives but you have beat me to it.

Someone with the appropriate information should be able to provide the part number shortly. I think you need the connnector and some seperate wires to plug into it and then maybe crimp the appropriate cables to them

Nice one Ross. Mind if i add it to the guide?

Sorry for digging this one up but where do i get the wires that go into the gren block and what (if from skoda) are the order codes?

cheers

What wires do you want Paul?

left, right and earth to go into the green block on the bluetooth that then plugs into the back of the radio. the wires are the ones that are long, thin and square with a donut hole in the middle of them (yeah that can mean anything with my descriptions). ah better way to describe it, they are the same as the wires already in the green block for bluetooth stuff, just want to put left right and earth at the other end for the mp3 lead im gonna make.

I think if you have a look around my site you'll find the number. Just can't quite remember at the moment - It's been a long day
