Any idea how much my car is worth?

Featured Replies

I am considering parting with the Octy. But i have no idea how much i could get for it.

It is a 2004 53 plate Elegance 1.8T with 33k on the clock.

MOT til next January and a few months tax left on it.

It has a Jabba Sport generic re-map, vRS springs, dampers, ARB and 17" vRS alloys and a 312mm brake upgrade.

I am not planning on putting it back to standard so i am not sure how much it would be worth and i may wait til next year before changing.

The car is generally in a very good condition.

Any ideas on how much i could get for it? Also where would be best to advertise it as it is a modified car.???

Cheers

Rob.

Why not return it to standard? I think you'd shift it a lot quicker as a standard Elegance than a modified one. Leave the remap on it though ;)

I think you may be about right about the price Goochie:(

I know what you are saying about putting it back to standard but i won't be bothering with that for two reasons. Firstly i don't have the standard bits anymore anyway, and secondly i can't be bothered.:)

According to parkers

I traded my 51 plate Octy vRS (44K miles) in March and got 4 grand for it.

If your selling privately I reckon between 5 and 5 & a half.

If trade in about 4.

I'm no car salesman though.

Also wouldn't i be best just removing the remap and leaving the other mods alone?? Surely it is the remap that affects the insurance quotes/premiums that potential owners would have to pay by the largest amount. Seemed that way to me anyway.

It has been know, apparently, allegedly, in some cases ;) for someone to leave the remap on the car and just not say anything. Obviously if the buyer asks "has it been remapped" you will have to tell them though.

Makes it easier if the car still looks like an Elegance though - apparently.

Just hope their insurance company doesn't find out when they bend the car and try and put a claim in!

Chris

think its standard procedure to check if car been remapped nowerdays, its such a common MOD.

I have already put it on piston heads.

I think i may as well put it on here too and see if anything happens.

I am in no rush, if it doesn't sell then i will keep it a while longer and save some more cash towards its replacement.

Thanks for all the replies guys:thumbup:
