Max mpg out of fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Was just wondering, out of curiosity, whats the maximum mpg people have ever got?

On the roads that i drive on which is everything, b-roads, a-roads, m-way etc i usually get 65-75mpg average. The display even crept up 80mpg! couldnt believe it.

Even when giving it the boot, still returns over 60mpg... RESULT!

How much mileage is that with? That seems almost too good to be true!

Mine gets around 50 if I go sensibly on A roads / m'ways. Enthusiastic driving gives around 46-47. But then again, mine's hardly standard. I can get mine up to about 60mpg on the computer, but that's doing a steady 70mph on the m'way which i rarely do :D

IF you're reading from the trip computer, let me warn you it LIES ! quite a lot!

I've been keeping track of my brim fills and my miles. I've done nearly 5000 miles in my SE since April. According to my figures, on some runs I have managed to hit 49-50 mpg, but my average is around 47.5mpg

According to the trip computer, my average is about 62mpg, so you can see how much it is out by - about 30% !!

Mine used to average 42mpg, lowest was 18mpg and highest around 50mpg.

Best gauge of economy would probably be the distance done to the first BEEP of the fuel buzzer. :) Mine's usualyl past 500 before the buzzer goes off, but mine's more economical due to the turbo & mapping. It's off boost for much more of the lower down rev range. :)

i fill up with 38 litres at a time with shell v-power diesel and return usually 400+ miles but dont ask me to work out the mpg for that.....

38 litres = 8.44 gallons, which means 400 miles is roughly 47mpg. :)

so the computer does lie as every day to work and back it always says i average 60+. iv had it upto 75.9 and took a pic as mates wouldnt believe me. that was on a 20 mile trip doin a steady 70mph

Are you running a cheap resistor mod they cause screwed up mpg figures.

mine's completely mod-free (apart from the briskoda sticker) but the trip is still way out. I don't suppose there's anything the dealer can do to try and sort it ?

56.7mpg on my fabia vrs. Calulated from a full tank to empty. All thanks to a faultly fuel sender lol. Forgot to mention it could have been remapped by the previous owner

I usually end up doin around about 400 miles before filling up. Im just going by what the trip computer says on those figures. bit annoying if its not as accurate as i thought it was.

i just take it as a rough guestimate as the speedo on our gerts kombi is about 6 mph out compared to tom tom . still average 48+

cheers steve
