Veritas Storage Guard?

Featured Replies

Whenever I have logged onto t'internet in the last few days my firewall thingy warns me that "Veritas Storage Guard is attempting to access the internet" and recommends that I block it, which I have done so far.

Anyone know what this is? If anyone does, could they explain as if speaking to a 10 year old - no offence intended to those with 10 year olds, I'm sure they know more about computers than me

Its a program you have installed on your machine... looking for automatic updates...

VERITAS StorageGuard is a free software utility that analyzes your local hard drive and quickly lets you know how much of your data is not backed up and therefore not protected.

There is some functionality and a new user interface that has been added to version 2.6. One exciting new feature is Automatic Updates. When you connect to the Internet, StorageGuard automatically checks to see if there are new patches, bug fixes and product upgrades for all of your "powered by VERITAS" products. The following are "powered by VERITAS" products: Backup MyPC, Simple Backup, RecordNow, RecordNow DX, and RecordNow MAX.
