Fabia tow bar wiring

Featured Replies

I am about to fit a tow bar to a VRS, don't laugh it's for a bike rack, and I'm concerned about what relay is needed for the wiring.

Has anyone fitted a wiring socket to one of these.

Any help appreciated please.

Great car by the way.

Thanks

Brian

Welcome to Briskoda, briwy. g7pkf posted a guide to fitting a towbar to an Octavia vRS but his site is currently being redeveloped and the link is down. Which towbar have you identified as being suitable for the Fabia Vrs since I believe that there is an issue with the size of the rear bumper which may affect towbar fitment?

Doesnt the Skoda loom plug straight into the rear lights just like the Octy,s?

The relay then is in the hazard warning switch, which should just mean putting the uprated hazard warning switch assembly in..again my old Octy was this way, as I believe my Superb was too.

Ps..what bike rack are you going to use....I use a Pendle 4 bike on a swan neck mount. Well solid and secure.

Apparently the bottom of the rear bumper will have to have a small piece cut out to take the the bar. Hopefully I can do this neatly and keep the piece I cut out so that it could be reinserted if the bar comes off.

Dunno what the rack is. Had it for years and it is a slide fit onto a plate mounted onto the bar. Im getting the bar galvanised and fitting stainless bumper guard and chrome ball cover. As the car is silver hopefully all this means it won't show up too much.

Also stops idiots cracking the bumper.
