What oil?

Featured Replies

My RS has got to go back to the dealer to be serviced. The book state's it is set for variable-QG1 but the previous owner has had it done every 12 months? The service warning thing is flashing so it has to be done but,

1 Should i go back to variable servicing,

2 What oil should i go for, the dealer's own?{dont know what they use} or

a fully synthetic oil?

Cheers

Steve

Steve,

I dont think that once switched from variable to fixed it can be swapped back the other way, this is because the sensors used to calculate the variable interval have been contaminated by the normal oil (or so my dealer says). What service are you being prompted for.

The car's showing 11235 miles, last service was 1/11/02 showing 4836 miles.

It was due on 1/11/03 or 14836 miles but the previous owner sold the car before it was done.
