SDLT drive problem.

Featured Replies

I have an issue with a HP SDLT drive.

Basically, the drive was not loading tapes. I have dismantled the drive, and the cause is the usual problem caused by the tape grabbing tape not hooking on to its hook and looping itself round the tape spool. I have put everything back to how it should be now, but.

The problem I have, is there is a tape stuck in the drive which I need to remove so the drive resets. I have found the release lever to the right of the tape and this does indeed release the tape, but because the drive is still engaged under the tape I cannot pull it out. I know you can release the drive but cannot find the appropriate control.

Any idea where to look.
