Hi all, new to the forum and have a problem with my exterior temp sender. It usually reads ok and then goes into random mode. I bought a new one but when I tried to locate the sender I discovered it was NOT under the near side headlight although there was a plug looking like it should be. It must be located elsewhere but I cant find it_ can Anyone help????? Main dealers say it should be under the headlight. The new sensor fits the plug there but it doesn't alter or fix the problem?

That's the coolant temp sensor.

My exterior temperature sensor is mounted using the bumper mounting screw which is behind the lower N/S bumper grille (2003 vRS). It sounds like this may be where you have already looked :(
