air bag VAG Com - Gloucestershire / Bristol / Worcester

Featured Replies

Is there anyone out there who lives near Gloucester who could plug me in for 2 mins???

I need my Passenger air-bag switched off for now.

We had a baby boy on Tuesday, and id like him to sit in the front (rear facing baby seat) - but im not allowed if air bag is active.

I have asked SKODA to turn it off, but their policy has changed and they are no longer allowed to switch it off just incase i have a normal passenger in the car one day.

My mrs will be driving my FABIA vRS every day whilst im at work, and its a bit difficult to put baby in a rear facing seat in the rear of the car.... what if he is sick? or chokes? May as well just put him in the boot - wont hear him then either! (joke)

someone help please!!!!

Do you have the correct information for disabling the aribag?

nope - i just heard that its possible to be done via VAG com. do u know any different Stu?

Yep ;)

You can do it with VAG-COM but you need a login code.

You are also supposed to order a sticker set and display it on the dash.

youve lost me!!!!!

where do i get a login code?

i can get a sticker somewhere.

The sticker has a part number - 1H0 010 076E

The login code would come from the dealer or someone who knows it.

anyone?

Any ideas if this can be dealer fitted ?

I don't think it's a retrofit.

Dealers used to disable them for people who needed to put kid seats in.

I don't mean to pass judgement or owt, but imho kids belong in the back. Let the driver concentrate on driving, and pull over if need be. Makes the baby less of a distraction.

To post in ask a tech you need to become a Freedom member. ;)

If you can get your 4 digit login, and the "how-to" to do this, I'll do it for you at TSR. I have not got the foggiest how to do it myself, so I would not even attempt it. :) The 4 digit code usually came in a plastic sleeve attached to your keyring, but with the long code off the back of the dashpod, along with vital info like reg, etc, the login code can be found. ;)

It's not the 4 digit SKC that you need Jason.

Kinda agree there.

But if i'm doing a longer trip on my own with my daughter (8mths) i like her to be in the front.

Never been a problem till now, as my last car didn't have a passenger airbag.

Really? So a different code than you use to login to recode keys?

Yes, there are different codes depending on the model of airbag fitted.
