All Dashboard dials stopped working

Featured Replies

Just recently bought an ocatavia GLX and all the dashboard dials stopped working,to get them working the guy I bought it off removed a fuse and now all dials do work but everything gets reset once you turn the key off.Any ideas as to what my original problem might be and the cost to repair?:)

I have this problem too. If the fuse is in (one of the dashboard fuses) the dash will work until the engine starts then die within 5 seconds of starting. With the fuse out the dashboard comes alive with the ignition on, but dies with the ignition turned off.

I choose to take the fuse out so I have speedo, rev counter etc. while driving, but it's really annoying that the trip computer zeroes each time!

Please help:confused:

I had something similar on my first Octavia, although gradually more stopped working.

Keyfob, interior lights, etc..

Hopefully not the same thing as this was convenience control unit (about 300 squid) :(

iirc, there will be a dry joint on the PCB somewhere, or posibly a voltage regulator that has failed.

Have this problem as well

Just checked and its fuse 15 in my car (99 Octavia GLX TDI)

Do you know which PCB it is and is it easy to get to. I've repaired PCBs before so wouldn't mind having a look at it.
