XBOX360 Vs PS3

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Im getting a free xbox360 with my new mobile, however which is better, PS3 or Xbox?

Technically the PS3 is quite a bit better but being a new console it doesn't have that many good games yet.

Give it a year or so and it should kick the x-box's butt

Just been looking in Currys this afternoon and was sorely tempted with the ps3, my credit card nearly got some hammer

ive got both and find i only turn on the ps3 for movies, and i even prefer the quality of the HD drive on the 360 to the blue-ray.

You’ll find that the games database for the ps3 is too limited at the moment. I also think that the joysticks on the ps3 are terrible.

If you get down and dirty with the specs of these consoles you’ll be surprised just how much potential the 360 still has left to explore. Another big plus is xbox live!

I only really want the PS3 for the F1 Game, cos that looks spot on

Game wise, the Xbox360 is better ATM, but once the PS3 gets going it should bypass it in quality and size of games. The Xbox is limited in that the games have to fit on a 9gb DVD (well 18 if they do 2 sided discs) as the HD DVD drive can only play videos. The PS3 on the other hand has use of 60GB Bluray discs so has scope for much larger games without detriment to quality, while the Xbox is already reaching the point where disc capacity is reached and so the programmers are having to be clever with compression techniques.

both are great consoles and once the ps3 gets more decent games then it will be a great console to own but at the moment its not worth the money due to lack of games .. both consoles are very similar spec wise with the ps3 having a powerfull cpu and the 360 having the better gpu . they can both do things that each other cant and in the end it will come down to the games .personaly i prefer the 360 due to it having games that i like i only use my ps3 for surfing the net at the moment i play my wii more than the ps3 to be honest ...

I bought F1CE because after playing GHTD on the PS3 with my logitech steering wheel, I found it absolutely awesome and soo precise.

Plugged wheel into PS3, booted up F1CE, and guess what, steeing wheel doesn't work :( They list the ones that do, and of course the one I have doesn't. However, it's not a hardware incompatibility because the wheel works fine with GTHD.

I've tried F1 with the gamepad, but I just can't hack steering a car at 200mph with a thumb on a nipplesque analogue stick :o

Have to admit though, the quality of graphics are superb

Problem is, Sony aint really being very helpful with developers.. and their h/w is apparently a biyach to code for, which is why the xbox will have the upper hand for a fair while yet.

So far i havent seen *anything* that i can say is better than the 360, side by side game comparisons always favour the 360..

Plus i think MS have the backing behind them to snap up most the big titles.. Sony havent really been too hot on that count, what else do they have other than gran turismo??
