 hi grant here i have a 2002 on a 51 plate vrs 1.8t, in first gear there is a wineing noise in 2,3,4,5, and reverse it is ok, i do not know if the last owner was wheel spinning alot or not but it sounds like it has a straight cut, this is my first vrs so i am not sure about it, plus the suspension is very soft it wallows all over the place it has done 59000 miles full skoda service history when you turn in a corner it pitches left and runs wide and the same if you turn right, it is not responsive at all i had a look at the suspension and it is leaking a bit on all of them, the anti roll bushes are gone as well this maybe why i get this floaty feeling all the time could you let me know if this is normal, my mates tt 180bhp is not as fast as mine but boy does it handle thanks grant.

The 1st gear noise sounds like 1st gear syncro to be noisy.

suspension being floaty! does the car bounce if u work the suspension? more than twice shocks are gone.

it'll be worth checking front springs for damage/broken also.

anti roll bar has plastic onserts which house the bushes, the onserts split and fall out the bushes, if this has happened the car will requires a new modified anti roll bar and bushes.

yes had a look i think i will need a new antiroll bar on the front and back as well,i was looking at weitec they look good

i dont see why it would'nt fit. the 1.8 block is pretty much the same i believe through out the range, its just the heads that differ. should bolt straight on.

you would need new gear cables i think they are a different lenghth.

theres bo ARB on the rear as standard so all that 4
