Care & maintenance of Green air filter

Featured Replies

I've just took delivery of one of these babies and after reading the instructions i see that it needs regular cleaning and oiling. I've had a quick search on here but can't find the answers i'm looking for so here goes.

It says that they should be blown clean and cleaned using green cleaner. Is there an effective way of cleaning them if you dont have access to a compressed air line? Are there any household cleaners that will clean just as well?

It also says that the filter should be coated lightly with Green oil. Can i use WD40, Ambersil or Plus Gas or any spray oil or does it definitely have to be Green oil?

Vacuum cleaner works well at cleaning them, and then I dunk it in some Oxyaction crystals dissolved in warm water in a cat litter tray. Seems to work pretty well :D As for the oil, I'd stick with the Green stuff. It's not that expensive and it lasts ages.

Once oiled, I dab it dry with kitchen paper to remove any excess.
