Headlight Condensation.

Featured Replies

Hello fellow Briskoda`s ! New member looking for help already ! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of condensation that has formed in the headlights of my `06 Octavia VRS ? After all this rain recently its fogging up with condensation, have tried to burn it off with the lights on full beam and by blowing hot air through the rear of the headlight units by removing the black rubber covers and using the brides hairdryer. This has got rid of most but some still remaining any thing else i could be doing ?

 .

wot about yea? hi and welcome to briskoda.

where in ireland you from?

up here?

post this in octavia section and you will get a better response. ;)

Its fairly handy to remove the headlamp completely if you wanted to take it inside and let it dry out.

Btw I've sent you a PM

On some oct2 the head lights do require a small "pulg" to be fited. Ring your stealer to see if it has been done or not,or is elgible.

IME regular use of dipped beam is enough to keep condensation dried up, but I'd not guarantee it against a leak (more likely if you've only got an issue on one side, and still more if you only get condensation after rain).

Thanks for the help.

had this on my last car (astra) check the little rubber pipe thing that comes out of the lamp is pointing down wards, carefully heat the glass with a paint stripper, but BE CAREFUL as its very hot and keep it moving over the lamp at all times. once it looks dry stick lights on and go for a drive for about an hour and see how it looks. But its more than likely the drain plug is either facing up or is blocked.
