new fuel fill personal best

Featured Replies

managed to squeeze 53.74litres of diesel in the Fabia this evening and the tank was by no means empty , still had a range of 30 miles left also , anyway a new PB beating my old mark by over a litre

The Max i've squeezed in has been around 50 ish. (can't be ars*d to stand there trickling the fuel in)

Have managed to get 625 miles on a tankful before (10 were after the beep)!!!! A mix of motorway (at 70mph on cruise control) and my daily commute - 40 mile round trip, stuck behind tractors and lorries.

I also use Millers sport 4.

Could only sneak 37.68litres in mine :(

But got 59 mpg for the tank :)

Guess the PD160 helps with my fuel economy :)

But now I CAN feel the stutter :(

remap will fix that ;)

53? That's what I crammed in mine when I was running on 0 miles for about 15 miles in France on the last CZ trip. :D

I was down to 20 miles this afternoon and got 45 litres in, and that was with a good

Not all remaps do - was quite surprised to go out in a car with one of the big site sponsor's custom maps on which still stuttered!

I wonder how much went in the pump overflow if it was repeated clicks.

used the vent method to fill to just below the top of the neck, funny though , when i got home , 3.7miles from fuel station, i released the cap just to check no excess pressure and found i couldn't even see the fuel in the neck

Annoyingly I was going to ask Basil to do mine, but as my car isn't available :P

What's the benefit of filling the fuel tank to the brim?

Urm - well you can drive for longer before filling up :D

If you dont do a lot of miles per trip, then there isn't much benefit as you're lugging extra weight along I guess. But if you do 500 miles/week minimum, it gives you a nice bit of extra mileage you can run between fill-ups. You can vent & fuel to achieve the same but it's just hassle.
