Essentially, what I want to do is replace the factory stereo in a Mk2 Octavia vRS, and I believe the kit part number is AZO 600 002.

That kit comes with a black surround, but I'm sure I've seen somewhere that you can buy the silver one as a spare for around

I don't think the single DIN kit is available in silver. You'll need to paint it.

I've seen something on here about the painting procedure and paint rqd, so will do a bit of searching.

Can't wait to get my stereo in the thing. The factory stream unit initially sounded good, but after a couple of hours it is just a boom and tizz sound.

The good thing is that the car seems so solid that I reckon it will be a very good base for starting the stereo install.

Time to lose some boot space

Yes they are and it varies depending your your trim colour. Best ordered from chassis number.
