Have started again tonight. :)

Recovered the cover from under the boat - dusted off all the debris the wind had blown on to it and gave it a much better coat with a full power can of diamond silver. Went on much better. Leaving it half hour or so and shall do a final coat before night-fall. Then it can dry properly before lacquering tomorrow night (or another coat of silver if it needs it) - It's looking sexy though.

OK - I got two coats done this evening, which isn't bad. Last one went on as the light was failing so hopefully it went on OK. Some photos below. First one is after the 2nd coat had dried, and the other 4 are ones where the paint is still very very wet on the 3rd coat, hence the patchy appearance brought up by the flash (plus it's a crap camera really :o). I'm sure it will dry evenly and the same colour. :D Now the cover is back under the boat to dry overnight, and hopefully nothing will land on it in the meantime.

What are the best temps for paint & lacquer to dry in? :o

I've given it one more coat of paint this afternoon (can now empty -

As long as its not damp then the hotter the better.

Yes, its quiet warm in the west country today. I am just up the road from you Jason, in Tiverton. Was at the car boot at the Marsh Barton cattle market this morning and got sunburnt.

Hmm - I was down there selling as well.... Never spotted you. I was selling from my Dad's black Mk5 GTI Golf, with his Mrs.

Oh, this is my engine "before" pic. :) Fitting cover and fuel rails this evening. :)

And THIS is the finished cover. Just want to give the third coat of lacquer time to harden, then I'll try buffing it with a cloth or something. I don't have any wet & dry. Hopefully will get a good shine from it. :)
