New chip on vrs

Featured Replies

Hi, this is my first post! I purchased my black 51 plate octy vrs about 3 weeks ago, got it chipped last week and everything was fine until yesterday. I drove the car and it seemed like it had no power eg full throttle but nothing was happening. The speed was increasing but very very slowly. Then today in the morning was fine, lunch time happened again the this evening was fine? Can anyone help please:confused:

Where did you get it chipped?

Take it back to them!

Sounds like Limp mode!

Have you got VagCom to check for any faults?

I live in maidstone (kent) got it chipped by impossible perfomance in Rochester, Going to check it with vagcom tomorrow

Take it back to Mike at impossible. He'll sort it.

its the pipe from the turbo to intercooler....its a Flaw....bad seal on it....i just changed my one awhile ago!

It sounds the same anyway....!!!!but id bet thats what its, they go under Higher boost levels!!!!anywere round 1 bar.

I'd rule out anything to do with an Impossible remap, except by co-incidence, or higher boost popping an already weak seal. I'm sure they'll be happy to give you a daignostic test though.

Do a search for fault code 17705, I am sure thats what you will have when you get the codes read. The problem as mentioned already is caused by a boost leak, most likely caused by the extra boost the map is now producing. I had it a few times on my old vRS, until the cause is identified simply restarting the engine will clear the problem temporarily. I had a pipe replaced under warranty on my vrs and never had the problem again.
