Can anyone tell me if there was a recallfrom skoda in the past for steering racks on a octy vrs 02 plate, only covered 39000

The dvla has a website with all official recalls i seem to remember do a search on google

I have read on here that some of the early Mk II Octys had a steering rack replaced, but I dont think it was an official recall.

I've had a quick look and can't see any mention of steering racks in the Mk I Octy recalls, but have a see for yourself

Is the steering rack similar to the old racks of years ago were you can change just the end joints on the rack itself, if so any part numbers.

You can just change the track rods/inner joints (not sure what theyre called). I don't have part numbers but I know it's possible because I had just the centre part replaced on mine.

Just looked on the recall website and noticed the side airbag warning. As far as I know mines not been checked. Anybody else been checked?
