After having my Octavia Vrs for 9 Days im starting to think have i done the right thing:mad:

I love the car, it looks good and its a nice drive, but ever time i got out to in the morning i find somthing else wrong with it.

So is it a LEMON??? or are they all like this???

First, i notice (this is as soon as we get home form picking it up 11 AUG)

is that the passenger vent is broken when you open of close the vent the inner vent dosnt

move so i had to push it open with a screwdriver do get some air out of it.

Second, the handbrake casing comes off in my hand

Third, i notice the Drivers inner door handle (used to close door) is coming off.

Fourth, the stereo radomley forgets it was played a CD from the changer and starts playing the one in the unit itself.

Fith, O/S rear door Seal trim is loose like i can move it with my hand.

Sixth, Trim clips missing from boot.

Seventh, N/S rear seat (the part that gose down the dog leg or arch or the rear quater panel) just comes off in my hands.

Eighth, Water leak on N/S front door looks like it getting in from behind the door trim onto the seal rubber and into the car.

Ninth, Petrol flap paint work sinking, looks like its either been paint in 1k laquer or the primer was still not dry when base coat and Laquer was added and then baked, so i have a Matt finish petrol flap now.

But please bare in mind this car is a EX demo car with only 6000 miles onit,

but i dont think that is a good reason for these problems, should i get them fixed or get my money back???

Those are all minor problems. They are many, I know, but easy fix. If you realy like the car, stick with it. I guess you have warranty from the dealer. Just be persistent and make them fix them all (unless they have sold you the car with big discount because of those problems).

In writing (that's improtant) detail the faults to the dealership and request your money back. Do it soon as another couple of days will be too late and you will have accepted the car by virtue of the fact that you have not rejected it soon enough.

Then, if they offer to fix everything - which they will - do it under condition that you can reject the car if they fail to fix it all. Again do it in writing.

I also have the problem with the rear seat side bit coming off. Its a poor fit that I only noticed yesterday so they'll be getting it back to sort that one out! Other than that, mine seems fine so your one must be rare in having so many problems.

Skoda do a 30 day return on used cars.

But I dont think those faults warrant giving up just yet. As said above you have a long list but they are all small things that can be put right without to much hassle.

Just book the car in with your dealer, I wouldnt go with the "in writing" thing just yet, give them a list of faults and give them the chance to deal with them before going in heavy handed.

HTH

Given the 30 day return - I'd agree with Chris. I didn't realise you had this option!

Heard of this happening to a few owners and iirc, it also happened to the guy who had one at What Car? for th e'Our Cars' section.

At least you don't have Bosnjo's problems. They put his steering wheel on the wrong side!
