some nice kind sole has hit my drivers side door mirror breaking the glass and cracking the case

I have been looking on ebay and not much than the glass from dealer I can buy a mk4 golf complete unit ready to paint

questions.

1. is the mk 4 golfs unit identical to the octavia's?

2. is the vrs mirror glasses clear?

3. has anybody use one and what are your thoughts eg

i bought a b5 passat mirror for my 99 octy

as that was all the local scrappies had left ....

it didn't fit!!!

the mounting plate was totally different

Part numbers don't match so I'd guess not.

Why would it ? The Octavia is based on the Golf platform not the Passat one.

I bought replacement mirror glass from him for my 2003 vRS. It was an original Skoda part, but intended for the Indian market. It has the "Items in the mirror are closer than they appear" etched into the surface. I like it because it makes me think a T-Rex will be in hot pursuit. I can send pics of it if you want.
