PD Tuning Chip Box

Featured Replies

My mum had a 1.4PD Polo for a little while, and had no complaints about the performance! If you can get a tuning box / remap for it, I see no reason why it shouldn't improve the performance to a similar degree as if the relevant mod were applied to a 1.9PD engine...

No, it's definitely more pokey than I was expecting - they're a lot flatter than the 1.9s once you start revving them higher up the rev range, but the bang of torque you get lower down is well on par. :)

I think the 1.4 tdi will go to 100 bhp

I'm more interested in getting that extra bit of poke shoving you back in your seat when you floor it at lower revs, than an increase in outright top speed.

Seems like an alright car anyway... much better than I was expecting when the dealer suggested I try it.

Since resistor mods don't rely on increasing the boost pressure. Presumably they're better for the turbos.

But I suppose a custom remap could also be made to this :)

I like those graph up there ^ ^ nice smooth curves with peak power between 3800 - 4000rpm, unlike some of the remap graphs I've seen. But I suppose by just increasing the fueling that gonna happen

Try Home

Also i can confirm FITTING this unit does NOT invalidate your warranty. If a vehicle has a problem which the dealer states is due to the DPT unit THAT work may not be covered by warranty. BUT the warranty remains intact and the distributing company Randstad woudl cover the problem.

That sounds pretty good - I'd imagine that the dealer could get out of pretty much any warranty claim based on the car being modded (a bit like Hellfire's seat base claim being rejected!) so Randstad must be prepared to cover a lot
